Suno Voices Guide: Set Up and Use Your Own Singing Voice
Learn how Suno’s Voices feature verifies a voice profile, what recording works best, and how to troubleshoot access and generation results.
Suno Voices is a feature for creating songs with your own voice recording. It is distinct from a Persona and includes identity verification and eligibility rules. Feature access may vary by age, location, plan, and model, so use the controls shown in your account as the source of truth.
Prepare a recording and verify your voice
Suno recommends a clean acapella recording for the clearest profile. Its current setup guide accepts a 15-second to four-minute recording and lets you choose the best two minutes. A quiet environment and a microphone without strong room echo can make it easier to review the sample.
Create a voice profile from your own recording or a Suno song containing your voice, then complete the spoken verification phrase. Suno says this check helps confirm that the uploaded singing and verification speech belong to the same person. Do not submit another person’s voice without their authorization.
Generate with the voice profile
Select the saved profile in the Voices menu, then write lyrics and describe the musical style for the new song. Suno’s FAQ says its newer Voices feature uses model v5.5; check the model selector if the result does not sound like the selected voice.
Audio Influence can affect how strongly the recording guides the result, but a higher setting is not a guarantee of an exact performance. Generate alternatives, compare pronunciation and tone, and keep the profile recording and original generation so you can refine the next attempt.
Troubleshoot access or an unexpected sound
If the Add Voice control is missing, check the account’s age eligibility, location availability, and model selection. Suno says Voices is limited to users aged 18 or older and may not be available in every location. These settings can change, so consult the current Voices FAQ.
If verification fails, rerecord the displayed phrase clearly in a quiet place and use a clean singing sample. If the song sounds unlike you, confirm that v5.5 is selected and test Audio Influence. Avoid sharing voice recordings publicly unless you understand the sharing and remix settings for the resulting song.
Common questions
Can I use someone else’s voice in Suno Voices?
The feature is designed for your own verified voice. Suno requires users to affirm they have rights to use the voice and performs verification. Get clear consent and follow Suno’s current rules before using another person’s recording.
Why is my voice profile unavailable?
Suno says Voices is only available to users aged 18 or older and may not be available in every location. The feature also requires a supported model; check the current in-product guidance and FAQ.
